Rome: With so many art treasures, monuments and archaeological sites, Rome is one of the most important tourist destinations in the world. Immense in history, Rome is the third most visited city in the EU (after London and Paris) with up to 10 million tourists a year. Rome was called the “Eternal City” by ancient Romans who believed that the city of Rome would always remain standing. Join our Italian Experience Tour and see Rome for yourself, including the two most popular tourist destinations – the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum.

The People: The Italians are friendly and are very willing to strike up a conversation with you, give you directions or provide advice. Try to learn some of their many hand gestures!

The Markets: Get your pick of fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables, cured meats, cheeses, fresh fish and seafood, gifts and antiques and vintage treasures. Markets are usually located in a historic plaza where you can complement your shopping with some great history.

The Views: In Italy, you will experience dramatic coastal views, the vineyards of Tuscany, sweeping views from Mt. Vesuvio, the beautiful countryside and the unique waters of Venice. Italy also has the longest coastline in all of Europe so it’s not hard to find a beach.

The Wine & Food: Wine in Italy is a staple of almost every meal after midday. There are over 100 grape varieties used which provides you with many wines to sample. There are many traditional Italian meals to look forward to – pizza, ravioli, risotto and of course pasta. On our tour, we will be participating in an Italian cooking class, visiting a chocolate factory, tasting wines at a local vineyard and experiencing a saffron farm.

The Gelato: A trip to Italy is not complete without enjoying gelato, Italian ice cream. Gelato has less fat than ice cream and has a richer texture from being churned. For the best taste, make sure you find authentic homemade gelato. Grab yourself a cono (cone) or a coppa (cup) and stroll through the streets soaking up the culture.
