Itinerary
Day 1: Thursday, May 7 / Departure Day
Today we meet at the airport to begin our journey filled with new and exciting experiences.
Day 2: Friday, May 8 / Arrive Zagreb
Upon arrival in Zagreb, we’ll have an orientation tour of the capital city of Croatia before checking into our hotel and enjoying a Welcome Dinner.
Day 3: Saturday, May 9 / Zagreb-Opatija
After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a walking tour of Zagreb. In the fortified, medieval Upper Town, we’ll visit St. Mark’s Church, Parliament, the Presidential Palace, and many fine old buildings.
Then we proceed to Opatija, situated on the picturesque Kvarner Bay. B,D
Day 4: Sunday, May 10 / Krk Excursion
Today, we’ll explore the biggest Croatian Island, Krk. After touring the main town of Krk, we’ll enjoy dinner in a local restaurant. B,D
Day 5: Monday, May 11 / Istria Peninsula Excursion
Today it’s time to get to know the Istrian Peninsula and visit the 2000 year old Roman Colosseum located in Pula. Afterwards we’ll relax in Rovinj, perhaps the most beautiful city in Istria and the inspiration of many artists. Departing for Livade, we’re in for a treat as we get to sample one of the Istrian’s tastiest treasures, the truffle. B,D
Day 6: Tuesday, May 12 / Ljubljana & Postojna Excursion
After breakfast, we head to Slovenia. Our first stop is Ljubljana, one of Europe’s oldest capitals.
After the guided tour, you’ll have plenty of free time to take a stroll around its centre, where Baroque buildings and ancient ramparts are overlooked by a grand castle. Then it’s on to the Postojna caves, carved over thousands of
years by the Pivka River. We’ll head into the depths of these caverns by train on a journey which takes us past incredible stalactites and stalagmites and sculpted galleries of rock. In the evening, we’ll leave Slovenia behind and head back to Opatija.B,D
Day 7: Wednesday, May 13 / Opatija-Plitvice Lakes
This morning we travel to the beautiful Plitvice National Park, the most beautiful and oldest national park in Croatia under UNESCO protection – consisting of 16 lakes connected by magnificent waterfalls. The park is located in Lika mountain region and visited mostly on foot – however we’ll experience a boat ride across the Emerald Green Lake “Kozjak” and a train ride back to the main entrance. B,D
Day 8: Thursday, May 14 / Plitvice Lakes-Zadar-Split
Today, we drive down from the mountain region of Lika via the coast towards the city of Zadar.
The historic town of Zadar is rich in cultural and historical monuments. From Zadar we continue to the Bibich Winery for a gourmet experience that is more than a simple wine tasting. This winery burnt to the ground during the war, and is now producing rewarded wines and exporting 80% of their production to USA & Scandinavia.
We will enjoy delicious Croatian style Tapas with our wine. B,D
Day 9: Friday, May 15 / Salona & Trogir
Today we will discover the ancient Salona archeological site outside of Split. After our guided tour, we’ll travel to Trogir with a stop at Stella Croatica to taste typical dalmatian handmade delicacies and sweets. We’ll enjoy a special lunch in the town of Trogir (a UNESCO site) followed by a guided tour. B,L
Day 10: Saturday, May 16 / Split-Embark on our Dalmatian Cruise
After settling onto the ship, enjoy the guided tour of Split, a historic town under UNESCO world heritage protection with an abundance of Roman architecture – of special interest is the magnificent Diocletian Palace, once home of the Roman Emperor. After the tour, return to the ship for a welcome meet & greet cocktail reception on board. B,D
Day 11: Sunday, May 17 / Split-Hvar
Our morning departure takes us to the island of Brač where we can spend some time at the most famous beach in Dalmatia – Zlatni Rat, We’ll enjoy lunch on board as we head to the jet-set island of Hvar. B,L
Day 12: Monday. May 18 / Hvar-Biševo-Vis
We start the day with a visit to the small island of Biševo for an optional visit to the Blue Cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon. Continuing to the charming island of Vis. Here we may sample some local wines, visit the remains of the Roman Thermal Place, visit the City museum or simply take a walk along the waterfront to enjoy the views. B,L
Day 13: Tuesday, May 19 / Vis-Korčula
Our next stop is known as the birthplace of Marco Polo; Korčula. We’ll enjoy a walking tour around this enchanting walled town, one of the best preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean. Tonight, we’ll learn more about the history and traditional way of living at a typical Dalmatian dinner. B,L,D
Day 14: Wednesday, May 20 / Korčula-Mljet
Our journey today will take us further south to Mljet. Stroll to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National Park and enjoy the boat ride to St. Mary Isle to visit an ancient Benedictine monastery and a church dating back to the 12th Century.
We’ll have dinner on board the ship tonight. B,L,D
Day 15: Thursday, May 21 / Mljet-Slano (Ston)
The small village of Slano is a peaceful fishermen’s village and the starting point for Ston, a once fortified small village famous for its oysters. After exploring, a Captain’s farewell dinner with live entertainment awaits us on the ship. B,L,D
Day 16: Friday, May 22 / Slano-Dubrovnik
Today we will cruise alongside the old Dubrovnik city walls while enjoying our lunch on deck.
After we dock, we’ll head to the old town for a walking tour and take the cable car to Mount Srđ to enjoy scenic views of the walls and Elaphiti Islands. B,L
Day 17: Saturday, May 23 / Dubrovnik-Disembark
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to the crew and meet our guide for the rest of our journey on land. We will spend a few hours seeing more of this charming city before checking into our hotel. After some free time, we will gather for dinner. B,D
Day 18: Sunday, May 24 / Mostar Excursion
A wonderful day awaits us as we take a full day tour to Mostar. We’ll drive through the Neretva Valley and get to know this diverse city located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After a long day we will return to our hotel. B,L
Day 19: Monday, May 25 / Montenegro Excursion
Montenegro is a small country with magnificent mountains rising above the Adriatic Sea. We will explore its contrasting natural attractions, history, culture, tradition and clean air. B,L
Day 20: Tuesday, May 26 / Dubrovnik Free Day
Today is a day for you to spend as you choose.
You can explore more of Dubrovnik, book an excursion, or simply sit and reflect on the wonderful trip you’ve had. We’ll gather in the evening for our farewell dinner. B,D
Day 21: Wednesday, May 27 / Return Home
We’ll transfer to the airport for our return flight, full of new memories and experiences and many new friends. B
